Sasha ran a weekly filmmaking group for adults with mental health problems through spring and summer 2011. The sessions took place at Camden MIND’s daycentre and were facilitated by Creative Health Lab. Daycentre members made a short documentary film about happiness and moved on to experiment with short fictional scenes.
“This course was very successful and had a good turnout. Sasha was very approachable and simplified technical concepts. Participants were able to map out a concept for a short film with the support of Sasha. They learned a variety of skills and Sasha used various techniques. By the end participants had produced a film called ‘Everyday People’. This reflected many themes: mental health, the day centre, Camden and happiness. Once the group had edited this, the results were fantastic. We decided to show this at our annual staff barbeque, to which council commissioners were invited. We had great feedback from all those that attended.”

Another community project was the Wandsworth Film & Reminiscence Project, a Wandsworth Council and Age Concern-funded project in which Sasha and colleague Toni Le Busque worked with older people in Wandsworth to make a film about their memories.
